Power Protect [eco]
Mould restoration based on the [eco] principle

Power Protect is a natural product made of modified perlite, a volcanic glass, and is a verifiably responsibly produced product. This is why it bears the ‘Blue Angel’ stamp. The ‘Blue Angel’ is only awarded to products that meet strict environment, health & safety and functional properties, and is a reliable indicator and guide line for ecologically sound purchase decisions.
Many mould restoration systems promise to tackle the cause of the mould infestation. However, frequently, compromises need to be made with respect to health safety, environment-compatibility and sustainability. This is why Remmers developed the Power Protect System. The supplement [eco] stands for absolute sustainability and a positive ecological footprint.
The Remmers Protect System does not release any damaging or allergenic substances. The mould restoration boards have extremely low emissions, prevent the creation of condensation on the wall surface, and ensure efficient humidity regulation in the building. They are also easy and safe to process. For a natural fee-good climate and better quality of life in your own four walls.
The Remmers Power Protect System:
Remmers Power Protect is a complete system for ecologically and economically sustainable mould restoration. Thanks to the unique composition of innovative mould restoration boards, the entire system ensures efficient humidity regulation and therefore a pleasant room climate and protection against mould.

How does Remmers Power Protect work?
The Remmers Protect System combines different hygrothermal material properties. It solves moisture problems (such as condensate formation and moisture penetration from the outside) by increasing the speed with which moisture is transported to the inside of the room and accelerating evaporation. The surface is kept durably dry, thus depriving mould spores of the habitat they need to grow.

Moisture contained in room air penetrates
and is buffered within the system.

The moisture is released again into the
room by capillary transport and diffusion.
The [eco] principle – Mould protection with sustainable materials
The Remmers Power Protect mould restoration panels are composed of a special mixture of heat-insulating, mineral perlite and environmentally friendly (because recycled) cellulose. All components satisfy high ecological standards with regard to their constituents and possible health-hazardous emissions. Cellulose is recycled from waste paper without need of large energy inputs and has hardly any impact on soil and water because for the production of the Power Protect panels it does not need to be bleached. Perlite is purely mineral and can be re-used at any time, thus ensuring a positive ecological balance sheet. The Remmers Power Protect System has been awarded the eco-label and the Blue Angel and therefore carries the addition [eco] to its name. Power Protect [eco]´s resistance to mould is guaranteed, which means that it shows no loss of material, no structural damage and also no dissolution of binding agents after durable exposure to a combination of mould spore mixtures typically found in homes. Power Protect System [eco] – Step by Step Guide

1. Preparation
Mineral building materials acc. to
WTA Code of Practice E 6-4 are allowed as substrate. The surface
must be dry and free of dust as well as other substances that could interfere with adhesion.

2. Filling with PP Fix (optional)
The cement mortar PP Fix can be
used to compensate irregularities
and level the wall surface with a
layer of up to 8 mm thickness.

3. Adhesive mortar bed with PP Fix
The adhesive bed is applied with a
notched trowel on the backside of
the panels.

4. Mounting of Power Protect [eco]
The Power Protect [eco] panels on
which PP Fix has been applied are
applied on the wall and pressed on. Cross joints are to avoided.

5. Application of PP Fill
The filler and reinforcement mortar
PP Fill is applied with a notched
trowel on the outside (front side) of
the panels.

6. Reinforcements with Tex 4/100
The reinforcement fabric Tex 4/100is worked in the mortar layer in vertical lane with a float avoiding creases (the single lane must overlap for at least 10 cm).

7. Levelling of PP Fill
To create a fine-grained, compact
surface that is suitable for painting,
PP Fill is levelled with a trowel and,
if desired, rubbed over again after it has begun to set.

8. Painting in the desired colour
iQ-Paint and Remmers Color CL
Historic are perfectly suited for
any kind of capillary active interior
insulation – naturally also for
Power Protect [eco] System.
